WORKSTREAMS

Workstream 1: Non-Discrimination Practices and Diversity Management


Workstream 1 lasts for 6 months; it begins in September 2014 and ends up in February 2015

The main objective of the workstream is to bring together experts working on non-discrimination and diversity management from the EU and Cyprus to exchange views and experiences, share good practices from their respective locations and put into the table recommendations for further developments. Additionally, the workstream aims, at a second level, to produce training modules and provide training on non-discrimination and diversity management, respectively, at a broader audience working on the issues such as union and business executives, public authorities' stakeholders and trade unionists. The purpose of the training sessions is to motivate the social partners to include the issues of equality and diversity in their organizations’ agendas and influence, thus, positive non-discriminatory changes.

Worstream 2: Mapping and Documenting Multiple Discrimination and Racism

Workstream 2 lasts for 6 months; it begins in November 2014 and in April 2015

The main objective of the workstream is the mapping, analysis, reporting and documenting of cases of multiple discrimination. To meet the objective, a research study will be carried out with individuals with multiple identities that experience discrimination and with other stakeholders in order to document experiences, opinions and thoughts around the issue of multiple discrimination. The second objective is the support of an existing mechanism (RADIAlert) of the co-beneficiary KISA that aims to document incidents of racism and discrimination in Cyprus.

  1. Journal Article on the ‘Documentation of Multiple Discrimination and Its Consequences in Everyday Life’
  1. Brochure on the main findings of the study on ‘Documentation of Multiple Discrimination and Its Consequences in Everyday Life’
  1. Support of the RADIAlert mechanism
  1. Production of a Flyer for the promotion of the RADIAlert mechanism.

 

 

Workstream 3: Awareness-Raising Campaign

Worstream 3 lasts for four months; it begins in May 2015 and ends in August 2015

The main objective of this workstream is to increase awareness and understanding of equality and discrimination among the general public, trade unionists and representatives of civil society, employees and employers, influencing their attitudes, beliefs and practices and aiming at long lasting changes. This will be met through a campaign comprising of a variety of activities and production of materials. The campaign will advocate for the importance of equality and non-discrimination highlighting the barriers that discriminatory attitudes, behaviour and practices affect both individuals and society as a whole. The campaign will also emphasize the benefits of putting into practice equality and non-discrimination.

  1. Social Media Awareness-Raising Campaign: RADIAlert Story Telling and Personal Testimonies
  1. Empowering the Rainbow Festival
  1. Production of Flyers, Banners Leaflets, Stickers, Posters and all Purpose Bags.
